“CRIME OF THE WEEK”

August 28, 2014

 This week Crime Stoppers needs your help to identify and locate the suspects involved in a theft.

On Wednesday, July 9th about 3:45 p.m. two females entered True Value Hardware located at 1838 N. 12 Street and proceeded to remove a lawn mower from the store.  The mower is described as an orange 2014 Husqvarna HU700F valued over $300. 

The first suspect is described as a white female approximately 35-40 years old, blonde hair with black underneath.  She was wearing a white t-shirt, blue shorts and flip flops.  The second suspect is described white female in appeared to be in her 40’s with reddish hair.  She was wearing a black shirt, dark pants and white shoes.  The surveillance photo of the suspects can be viewed at www.241stop.com.

The Grand Junction Police Department needs your help in identifying and locating the suspects involved in a burglary at A Step Above Property Management located at 838 N. 1st Street.

Sometime between 7 pm on Thursday, July 17th and 9 am on Friday, July 18th, unknown suspects unlawfully gained entry to the business.  While inside, they removed a Sentry Safe and Bunker Mill Safe which contained various bank cards and an undisclosed amount of cash.  A male and female subject used the stolen bank cards at local businesses.  To view pictures of the suspects visit www.241stop.com.  The total loss is in excess of $7,000.

On Friday, May 16th just after 2 a.m. the Grand Junction Police Department responded to a structure fire.  The unknown subject(s) forced entry into an unoccupied mobile home located at 310 W. Grand Avenue. While inside, the subject(s) set the structure on fire.  The total estimated damage and property loss is over $16,000.

8/7/2014 - Theft and Vandalism Suspects Wanted

August 7, 2014

 This week Crime Stoppers is requesting information that will lead to the identification of the suspects involved in a vandalism and theft.

In the early morning hours of Friday, August 1st, the male subjects entered a property located in the 400 block of Ridgeway Drive and removed several decorative solar lights.  The first suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 15-20 years old, 5’7’ to 6’ tall, weighing 150-200 lbs.  The second suspect is described as a white male, approximately 15-20 years old, 5’5” to 6’ tall, weighing 135-180 lbs.  They fled the scene in a darker colored sedan with a loud exhaust and brake light that extended across the back of the vehicle.  The solar lights were recovered later at Grand Junction High School.  The total estimated damage and property loss is over $560.

“CRIME OF THE WEEK”

July 31, 2014

 The Grand Junction Police Department needs your help to identify the suspects involved in a theft.

On Monday, July 7th at about 5:30 p.m. officers responded to a theft call at Rent-A-Center located at 2401 North Avenue.  Two female suspects were seen unhooking an Acer Iconic A3 Tablet from the display.  As an employee approached the suspects one of the females ran out of the store with the tablet.  The female dropped the tablet when she realized she was being pursued by employees.

Both suspects were described as white females, in their 30’s, approximately 5’9” tall, the first female weighed about 180 lbs. with brown hair dyed blonde.  She was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue jean shorts.  The second female had a heavier build, with blonde hair and last seen wearing a black dress. 7/24/2014 - Burglary Suspect Wanted

This week Crime Stoppers is requesting information that will lead to the identification of the suspects involved in a burglary.

Sometime between 5 pm on Wednesday, January 22nd and 3 pm on Saturday, January 25th, unknown subject(s) forced entry into a residence located in the 1800 block of White Avenue.  While inside the residence, they removed a green Hitachi Duffel Bag, a Hitachi Power Drill with 18V Lithium battery and charger, Sawzall and Lamp set, Hitachi Brad Nailer and Power Screws with Battery and a Dewalt Yellow Drill with Battery and Charger.  The total estimated damage and property loss is over $1,600.

 This week Crime Stoppers needs your help in locating the suspect(s) that stole a vehicle parked on the 3000 block of Prairie View Drive.

Sometime between 9 pm on Wednesday, May 28th and 9 am on Thursday, May 29th, the suspects unlawfully gained entry to a Dodge vehicle parked on a residential driveway and found the keys to a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon which they stole.  The stolen Jeep was set on fire in the desert near 34 and C Road. The total estimated property loss is over $30,000.

Sometime between 11:00 pm on Wednesday, May 7th and 1:30 pm on Wednesday, May 14th, unknown subject(s) entered a Ford F350 truck and trailer parked on the 2200 block of Tall Grass Drive. While inside the vehicles, suspect(s) removed two Ashly 31 Band Single Track Equalizers and two Galileo 616 Audio Processors.  The total estimated property loss is over $22,000.

 This week Crime Stoppers of Mesa County needs your help in locating the suspect that stole two wallets from a locker at the CMU Recreational Center located at 1040 Mesa Avenue in Grand Junction. 

Sometime between 3:15-6:50 pm on Friday, June 6th, unknown suspects removed a white canvas wallet with a black owl print and a red cloth wallet with a green swirl print and buckle which contained both victim’s personal identification cards and cash.  The total property loss is less than $100.  The surveillance photo of the possible suspect can be viewed at www.241stop.com.

This week Crime Stoppers of Mesa County is requesting information that will lead to the identification of the suspect(s) that are involved in leaving suspicious items behind in parks to endanger children.

Recently, there have been reports of dangerous objects being placed near or on the playground equipment in our parks.  Law enforcement and park employees have heightened their awareness and have increased patrol of the parks, but they cannot do it alone.  Be extra aware when using the parks and if you encounter such an item, leave it where it is and call 911.
